Poplar Tree Estates is a planned community of 713
single-family homes located in Chantilly, VA in western Fairfax County
consisting of the subdivisions of Berkeley Mill, Fox Glen, Hunter Trail
and Poplar Tree. The first homes were built in the late 1970's and last
homes were built in the early 1990's.
The community is within the Sully District
and is bounded by Poplar Tree Road on the north, Stringfellow Road on
the east, Poplar Tree Park and Northborne Drive on the south, and
several neighboring communities on the west including Sutton Oaks,
Edgemore and the Preserve.
All homeowners in Poplar Tree Estates are members of the Poplar Tree
Homeowners' Association (PTHOA) and are obligated to abide by the covenants, bylaws and constitution of the PTHOA including, but not limited to the payment of annual dues, and compliance with the Architectural Control Guidelines.
The legally enforceable, restrictive covenants help preserve the
community's unique character, enhance its amenities and protect the
investment of its homeowners.
The PTHOA is governed by a nine-member, volunteer Board of Directors
serving three-year terms. Three-members elected to the Board each year
by the membership at the annual meeting in January. A professional,
community management company assists the Board in conducting the affairs
of the PTHOA. All members of the Association in good standing are
eligible to run for election to the Board of Directors. The PTHOA also
financially supports numerous, very active volunteer committees, staffed
by residents, that strive to enhance the quality of life in Poplar
All residents of Poplar Tree in good standing have free access to the
swimming pool and tennis facilities. There is also a tot lot, picnic
area and an extensive trail system for the enjoyment of our residents.
The public schools serving the community are Poplar Tree Elementary
School, Rocky Run Intermediate School and Chantilly High School.
